Traumatology and Orthopaedics are the medical specialties treating a wide range of problems and failures in the human body concerning the skeleton, muscles as well as statics and motion, including their injuries, sport traumas and degenerative issues.
Among others, they are acute or chronic diseases, like joint problems (arthritis and arthrosis), spine problems (lumbago, tension headache or stiff neck), blockages, muscle and ligament lesions (knee, ankle, shoulder).
Pain is usually a sign that something is wrong within the body. It can be caused by acute or already chronic triggers. Our approach is to not attend ONLY this pain, but, if possible, also to find out what it is caused by, where it comes from and therefore treat it in a more holistic way.
Dr. Koller has been a surgeon in this speciality himself and knows that some problems or injuries can only be solved and cured with an operation, which is an invasive procedure for the patient. But he’s also learned over the years, that in different situations the problem can be solved without an operation with modern non-invasive or minimal-invasive interventions.
The first consultation with Dr. Koller consists of a very thorough evaluation of the medical history and actual symptoms of the patient and a careful physical examination. This requires sufficient time and patience. According to the clinical findings a diagnosis will be established, and the best therapy decided on individually for the patient. This includes treatments within other specialities like manual therapy, physiotherapy, osteopathy, or even psychotherapy, which can be offered directly in our IWHCM centre.
