Labor & Delivery Rooms

At IWHCM, we are committed to supporting childbirth by respecting—whenever clinical circumstances permit—the natural progression of labor and promoting a care model that is as minimally invasive as possible. To this end, we have three natural birthing rooms at HM Nuevo Belén Hospital, built in 2013 and designed to provide an intimate, peaceful environment equipped to support the different stages of the process.

Each room features a birthing bed and various resources that allow the woman to find the position and movement that are most comfortable for her during labor. We provide a birthing chair, a birthing pool, a Pezzi ball, a rope, and a yoga mat—elements that offer different options to promote mobility, comfort, and the physiological progression of labor.

We have also paid special attention to the space designated for birth partners, incorporating a comfortable armchair that allows them to remain by the woman’s side throughout the entire process. Each room also features a private bathroom with a shower, providing greater privacy and comfort without the need to leave the birthing space.

Our goal is for each room to provide the necessary conditions to experience childbirth in a safe, serene, and respectful environment, using the available resources to facilitate the most natural birth possible—always within a framework of safety and attentive to the needs of each mother and each baby.
