Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy: Comprehensive, Individualized Care for Core Female and Male Health

Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy consists of preventing, treating, and re-educating the various conditions that can affect the functions of the pelvic floor. The functions of the pelvic floor include visceral support, continence, childbirth, sexual function, urination and defecation, postural support and pressure absorption.

In many cases, there is no sudden onset of symptoms, but rather a subtle worsening. That’s why the area should be checked at the slightest sign of change or deterioration. When it comes to the female pelvic floor, it’s important to remember that constipation, pregnancy, and childbirth are additional risk factors. In men, special attention should be paid to athletes who practice high-impact or hyperpressive sports (such as weightlifting, CrossFit, or cycling), which can put added stress on the pelvic area.

Several therapeutic approaches can be used in treatment, such as increasing awareness and perception of the pelvic floor, muscle strengthening exercises, manual therapy, posture correction, and breathing techniques. Various devices are commonly used in both diagnosis and treatment, such as ultrasound and radiofrequency.

The process begins with a health questionnaire, followed by a comprehensive assessment of the pelvic floor, abdominal wall, breathing patterns, and posture.

Once all data has been collected, an individualized treatment plan is developed with clear, personalized objectives for each patient.

Advanced Technology

Radiofrequency

The machine generates a high-frequency current flow that can penetrate deeply into the tissue, leading to controlled tissue heating. This effect can be used to treat scars, relieve chronic pain, improve blood circulation in specific muscles, enhance tissue quality, increase muscle thickness, improve mucosal tensegrity, and much more.

The use of radiofrequency therapy accelerates the regenerative process, making each treatment more effective and the overall progression faster. It has become an essential technique in the treatment of pelvic floor conditions and also facilitates lymphatic drainage.

Ultrasound

The go-to technique for visualizing internal tissues using real-time ultrasound imaging. It supports physiotherapy diagnostics through the interpretation of grayscale images.

It can also be used during treatment sessions and to assess the progression of various pelvic floor and abdominal conditions. With ultrasound, we can observe visceral positioning, tissue quality, organ movement, and muscle mobility.

We do not provide medical diagnoses or issue any official ultrasound reports.

Neuromodulation of the Autonomic Nervous System

The autonomic nervous system (divided into the sympathetic and parasympathetic branches) is responsible for cellular regeneration, hormonal regulation, sleep quality, and the functioning of all bodily systems. When a pathology is present, there is an imbalance in this system. This technique helps to rebalance the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems. It serves as a foundational therapy to help ensure the best possible outcome for subsequent treatments.
