Women’s health is a many-sided specialty. On the one hand, physical findings have to be checked, perhaps acute or chronic discomfort has to be alleviated. With our holistic approach on the other hand, we try to see and understand women as individuals since often the physical pain cannot be separated from the emotional well-being of a patient.
It is our aim to give our patients as much information as possible in order to enable them to take autonomous decisions regarding their own health.
The diversity of the specialty also becomes evident by looking at the different age groups of our patients: in young women puberty, the onset of the menstrual cycle, sexuality and contraception will be the the main topics, while at a later stage family planning is the key interest. Before and after the birth of one’s children, the annual general check ups are a good opportunity to talk with the gynecologist about current issues regarding one’s own health. Later in life then, each woman is confronted with menopause and all the corresponding changes.
A woman’s life is really eventful not only cyclically, but also taking in account all the age-appropriate changes one goes through!
